Hi! My name is Rolando Barry. I work with shapes, colors and lighting to create art.
I was born in Spain, on the very top left corner. It's nice there, and the food is some of the best I've ever had since. When I was 16 I moved to the Mahindra United World College of India, where I would study many different things for two wonderful years, until I finally realized that creating images (both still and moving) was quickly and effectively becoming a lot more than a hobby. I applied and went to Ringling College of Art + Design in Florida, USA on a full scholarship. During the following four years I studied and practiced film and photography to the best of my abilities. My graduation fortunately took place at around the same time as I felt art school was no longer the place for me to learn.
Shortly after I became a travel videographer, photographer, and video editor for an adventure company in the UK. During the year 2018, I traveled to five different continents, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, photographed Machu Picchu, set foot on the Everest Base Camp and walked the Great Wall of China, among others. During my free time, I developed a love for all things 3D.
As of 2019, I've left my travel photography job behind to dedicate myself fully to creating wonderful, engaging 3D Illustrations and Motion Graphics. My preferred tools are Cinema 4D, Redshift and After Effects. I'm keen on using zBrush and spend odd afternoons figuring out Houdini.
Feel very welcome to take a look at what I've been doing, and don't forget to say hi!
