With the introduction of R25, many interface buttons have changed. The Active/Inactive buttons in the object manager now display in Red for inactive and Grey for active. This can be sometimes hard to glance at, so here I tell you how to change it back.

The Cinema 4D R24 icons (Left) vs the R25 icons (Right)
This is a simple one. In the latest Cinema 4D R25, Maxon have switched the green “Active” button to a grey one. For some people, including me, this has made it a bit harder to glance at the object manager and immediately check for active deformers and objects. Here’s how to change it back (and as a bonus, here’s how to change any and every C4D icon!)
Go to:
📂 C:\Program Files\Maxon Cinema 4D R25\Resource\Modules\c4dplugin\icons
Inside this folder, you will find a file called
🖼️ interface_icons_2x.tiff
Open it with any image editor. You will find the grey tick here:

On you image editor, you can colorize it, draw over or put a different icon over it. Save the file to your desktop, and then use it to replace the original.
⚠️ It’s always a good habit to rename the original file to something else instead of replacing it, just in case you ever need to go back to the defaults.
